Henry Wins

Senior Technician and Owner

Hey, I’m Henry, the owner of Kelowna Refrigeration and a Red Seal Certified Appliance Technician with over eight years of hands-on experience.
I completed my formal training at KPU’s Cloverdale campus, and since taking the helm of the company, I’ve been committed to maintaining the same high standards of craftsmanship and customer care that built our reputation.

My journey in this trade began long before my certification. I was fortunate to be grandfathered into the business, spending summers on service calls with my father–a seasoned technician and my greatest mentor. Those early experiences not only sparked my passion for the trade but also shaped my values: honesty, quality, and genuine care for every customer. What I enjoy most about this work is the people. Every service call is an opportunity to make someone’s day a little better–and trust me, a good dad joke never goes to waste.

At Kelowna Refrigeration, we live by our mission statement: “Redefining Quality Service.” It’s more than a motto–it’s the standard we hold ourselves to on every visit. As both owner and technician, I take pride in ensuring your appliances receive the highest level of care and attention.

When I’m not diagnosing or repairing appliances, you’ll likely find me spending time with my wife and 2 daughters. I also love spending time outdoors–especially on horseback . Working with horses teaches patience, focus, and balance–qualities I bring into every job to keep your appliances running smoothly. I look forward to assisting you and continuing to deliver the quality service Kelowna Refrigeration is known for.

Stephen Coleman

Senior Technician

Ever since I finished high school, Appliance Servicing has been my trade of choice. I really enjoy meeting new people and visiting with clients that I’ve known for years.
The mechanical and electronic side of the business is something I’ve been passionate about since I was about 10 years old. As a teen, I finished high school and went straight into a 2-year apprenticeship with my father. He taught me everything I know. My dad has always had a passion for this industry and I am so grateful to stand on his shoulders.

I want my customers to feel that I care. It brings me a lot of satisfaction when I have the opportunity to resolve a problem that no one else was willing or able to.

When I’m not working, I love to spend time with my wife, kids, and friends. But my favorite pastime of all is connecting with God in the solitude of the forest.

Kai Merkel

Office Manager and Dispatcher

I’ve been part of the Kelowna Refrigeration team for the past three years. I’m proud to work for a company that genuinely puts customers first.
As the Office Manager and Dispatcher, I’m often the first point of contact for our clients. I enjoy helping people find quick, clear solutions to their appliance issues and making sure their experience with us is as smooth and stress-free as possible.

I love the problem-solving side of what we do, and I take pride in supporting both our customers and my co-workers. Being part of a dedicated team that works hard and truly cares about service is something I value every day.
Outside of work, I’m grateful that this career allows me to support my family. I have a young daughter, and most weekends you’ll find us outdoors—spending time in nature and enjoying the simple things.

Simon Schewa

Technician

I come from a background as a licensed electrician with over 12 years in the electrical trade, and I’ve built my career around diagnosing and solving technical problems.
Transitioning into appliance repair has allowed me to expand that skill set and provide reliable, detail-driven service to every customer I work with.

Faith and family are central to my life. When I’m not working, you’ll usually find me spending time with my wife and kids–or won’t find me, as I’ll be out in the backcountry fly fishing on a quiet lake that I can’t name. I greatly appreciate the remarkable natural beauty of the Okanagan region. I also enjoy staying active and playing all types of sports, especially soccer.
